On September 23, YG Entertainment shared, “The new headquarters that we’ve been working on for eight years has finally been constructed, so we began moving some of the employees and equipment from September 16.”
YG Entertainment’s new headquarters is located in Hapjeong area, Mapo District of Seoul just next to the previous headquarters. The building’s total floor area is 19,835 square meters and is a fourteen level building (five floors underground + nine floors).
YG Entertainment bought the land since 2012 to build their new headquarters. The construction began in 2016, and it took 4 years to construct the building. The new headquarters’ facilities include an auditorium, seven large dance practice rooms, seven large recording studios, and 30 personal studios for composers and artists. As YG Entertainment’s restaurant has been famous for a while, the entire second floor was designed to be a modern food court, and the basement floors include large-scale fitness and recreational facilities for the company’s employees and artists. Moreover, a bridge will be built between YG’s previous headquarters and the new one to connect two buildings. YG Entertainment also plans to prepare a space for fans at the opposite side of the building.
